Corgi was originally a series of toys made by Mettoy in Swansea, Great Britain. Mettoy was founded in 1934, but in 1994 the toy car manufacturing was sold, first to Mattel, but this didn't work out so later the employees took over the production and named it Corgi Classics. In July 1999 Corgi was bought by Zindart.
