Dinky Toys was founded in 1933 by Frank Hornby.
The production started 1934 in two factories, Liverpool, England and Bobigny, France.
Dinky Toys was also produced in Spain by Pilen after the factory in France was closed
Models of Renault R16 where made at all the factories at one time or another.

The TX was a remake of the old model, as some details show:
The ventilation opening at the windscreen is a grille, like on very old R16's
The front has only new headlights and indicators, the grille is still the old one.
Made in Spain by Pilen. Was later remade and sold as Pilen.
