Workshop manuals

M.R.96 (Several printings, in several languages)

The workshop manual from Renault.
Note that the later editions are set set of two (2) books. Part 1 is marked by one star, Part 2 by two.
Once I found two workshop manuals at a swapmeet, and I bought the best looking, only to find out that I didn't have the engine section in my book. Naturally the engine section was in the other, dirty, book.

Hard to find, maybe you can get lucky at a swapmeet
M.R.96 supplement (Several printings, in several languages)

Supplement to the Renault workshop manual.
Contains special versions and updates not shown in the ordinary book.

Also hard to find.
Haynes Owners Workshop Manual (Several printings, in English)

Everything you need to know to repair your Renault 16. Very detailed step by step instructions illustrated by many pictures.

Can still be found new in some bookstores, but it's getting more difficult to find.

Sparepart catalogs

PR.820 and other sparepart catalogs (Several printings, many languages i one book)

Useful for finding out the number for spareparts, but beware the numbers are often changed.
The sparepart catalog is also interesting for finding out how things are put together.
